Tokens - often referred to as cryptocurrencies - can represent anything from an asset to an access right, such as gold, diamonds, a fraction of a Picasso painting or an entry ticket to a concert. Tokens could also be used to reward social media contributions, incentivize the reduction of CO2 emissions, or even ones attention for watching an ad. While it has become easy to create a token, which is collectively managed by a public Web3 infrastructure like a blockchain network, the understanding of how to apply these tokens is still vague.

The industry keeps referring to “Blockchain” as different from “Bitcoin,” creating an artificial divide that is often misleading. There seems to be too little understanding about the fact that Bitcoin is a blockchain network, which is (a) globally managed by people who mostly do not know each other, and (b) enabled by the consensus protocol that (c) incentivizes all network actors for their contributions with a native token. The governance rules are tied to the minting of a native blockchain token. The Bitcoin token can, therefore, be seen as the currency of a distributed Internet tribe, called the Bitcoin network, where network actors are rewarded with Bitcoins, just as the Ether is the currency of the distributed Internet tribe Ethereum network, or Sia is the native currency of the Sia network. ## What is a smart contract?

Smart contracts are the backbone of decentralized applications (DApps) and Web3. A smart contract is a simple program that lives on a blockchain network (such as Ethereum). They're actually not that smart. And nothing like a (legal) contract. They’re more like an executable piece of code that requires input or an trigger from an external source. - **P2P**

Odds are you’ve heard about the Ethereum blockchain, whether or not you know what it is. It’s been in the news a lot lately, including the cover of some major magazines, but reading those articles can be like gibberish if you don’t have a foundation for what exactly Ethereum is. So what is it? In essence, a public database that keeps a permanent record of digital transactions. Importantly, this database doesn’t require any central authority to maintain and secure it. Instead it operates as a “trustless” transactional system — a framework in which individuals can make peer-to-peer transactions without needing to trust a third party OR one another.

Still confused? That’s where this post comes in. My aim is to explain how Ethereum functions at a technical level, without complex math or scary-looking formulas. Even if you’re not a programmer, I hope you’ll walk away with at least better grasp of the tech. If some parts are too technical and difficult to grok, that’s totally fine! There’s really no need to understand every little detail. I recommend just focusing on understanding things at a broad level.

I have been integrating the MACI SDK into two different apps: coordinator service and the Aragon UI. I have come across a problem when trying to get the correct chain name. For example for Arbitrum Sepolia the name that most of the MACI monorepo uses is `arbitrum_sepolia` (the coordinator uses `arbitrum-sepolia`).

This can lead to duplicated code that when modified, we will need to consider two or more places to change the code.

Also when trying to run verifications using `deployed-contracts.json` I have come into the problem that `optimism-sepolia` (generated from the coordinator app) does not match the expected `optimism_sepolia` from the verification process

Lets make `ESupportedChains` exportable from `@maci-protocol/sdk` so any app can have the same chain names the whole MACI monorepo uses.

Bug report: wrong line-height in cards

The language picker on the website can be optimized for better UX. It is accessible from all pages in the top right menu.

Right now it contains information that is confusing to the visitors like translated word count or order by translated pages. But visitors may be interested in more logical sorting such as alphabetical so that they can find their language easier.

Word count translated isnt reflective of the amount of articles translated, therefore the metric should be changed to article counter instead.

Fabric [v3.1.0](https://github.com/hyperledger/fabric/releases/tag/v3.1.0) introduced a new performance optimization that allows ledger reads and writes to be performed in batches. This feature is described in the [Peer to Chaincode Communication Optimization RFC](https://github.com/hyperledger/fabric-rfcs/blob/main/text/0011-peer-chaincode-optimization.md).

[fabric-chaincode-go](https://github.com/hyperledger/fabric-chaincode-go) provides a reference implementation of this functionality, which should be replicated by the Node chaincode libraries.

We are currently missing the final databus consistency checks that confirm data was faithfully passed from the second to last kernel to the tail kernel. (The second to last circuit is always a kernel; either an inner or reset). The check is simply that the return data of the second to last kernel matches the calldata to the tail.

Our native and recursive CIVC verifiers consist of several large components (Mega(ZK)-, Merge-, ECCVM-, and Translator- Verifiers), but only output a single bool and print a bunch of intermediate debug statements. 
* Consider creating a struct containing all main CIVC check results and printing something informative in the case of failure. 
* Consider if we should proceed with native verification if current step failed. Not proceeding has a couple of downsides - 1) failure tests will break due to incomplete transcript and not because of wrong witnesses; 2) non-const time native verification of incorrect proofs (with valid proof structure); 3) the native behaviour differs from the recursive one

L2: Rename `ETHREX_DEPLOYER_DEPLOY_RICH`

`era-test-node` is very outdated and no longer supported. [`anvil-zksync`](https://github.com/matter-labs/anvil-zksync) should be used instead.

The issue is that hardhat's chai matchers that we currently use for testing make a lot of assumptions that don't hold for `anvil-zksync` -- in particular, the behavior around rejected transactions is different, hence, matchers have to be patched.

Once the test infra is migrated, we can also consider re-enabling the `e2e demo-app` test which was disabled in #91
